Ambient Future Soul Duo AstraLogik Drops Gorgeous Video for "Here & Now"

I was blown away by this video by AstraLogik when it dropped earlier this week, for their single "Here & Now" off their 2015 DREAM AWAKE EP. AstraLogik is a musical duo (and also a super beautiful queer couple) founded in 2010 and based in the Bay Area, with Charito Soriano on lead vocals and MPC, and Rowenalyn "FunkCH3N" Conlu on guitar and bass. A self-described Ambient Future Soul group, their sound combines influences from neo-soul, reggae, R&B, island, hip-hop, electronic, world & indie.

The clip, directed and produced by award-winning San Francisco filmmaker Jethro Patalinghung, flips between serene, intimate home scenes with Soriano singing and Conlu strumming guitar, to the couple performing in gorgeous costumes amidst cinematically shot dancers, confetti and smoke. The contrast reflects the harmony in vibrations between the inner and outer world, how the hectic pace of city life has its own vibrant energy and can co-exist with a more peaceful and reflective space. The lyrics to "Here & Now" speak of essentially getting out of your head and just existing in the perfection of the present moment. AstraLogik's compatibility, both romantically and musically, is super apparent. Soriano's smooth sweet voice flows beautifully over acoustic guitar melodies, and is punctuated by unexpected dance beats in a super catchy electronic chorus - "Here & Now" is both soul-soothing and tranquil, and hella upbeat and uplifting. Also can I just mention how BROWN this video is?? From the director and cinematographers and dancers to the styling, hair/makeup, these video credits are chock full of POC representation! This is AstraLogik's first-ever music video, and we hope there's much more to come from these talented and woke Pinxys.  Watch the full video below.
